Daily Writing Prompt

Patrick is on a sinking ship. He writes a message to his lover. What does he say?

Dear Emma,
I am sorry.
I really am.
I am sorry to let you think we had a future together.
I am sorry for all the false promises I couldn’t fulfil.
Most of all, I am sorry that you love me. I am sorry that I can’t do anything more for you.
Life is harsh. Here I am, on a sinking ship with no hope yet no despair. Death faces me right in my eyes. As they say, time and the tide wait for no one. It certainly didn’t wait for us. Now, on the brink of death, I only think of one thing. Death and love are the same. Love is to die for the other person. Death is realizing that you would do anything for that other person. That you truly love them. And you are ready to die for them.
The world is God’s creation. Maybe we weren’t meant to be a whole. I have complete faith in God that it is for the better. He knows what He has done. It is a part of His plan. We are just mere insignificant mortals, a tiny speck of dust on His creation, actors playing parts in His play. There is no hope for me now. Move on, dear Emma. It would not be wise to disrupt God’s system of things. By the time you find this message, I will be long gone.
I hope you forgive me. I have one more thing to say.
I love you and I always will, even after death, and I am sorry that I was not your other half, a piece that reunites the whole being and mind.
I really am.

                                                                                Patrick

Hi! I am Amitoz Kaur Sandhu, a choppy black haired tween about 11 with a writing gift (And sometimes a hot temper!) from Muktsar, a small and lively town from Punjab, India. I am quite a bookworm and I like to mix my styles of writing with an olden english flair and a humourous american flair, thanks to my favourite authors, Enid Blyton and Rick Riordan, who have a very unique style of writing and keep me engrossed in the books. My amazing father introduced me to books and comics when I was small and I can't say that I have outgrown them! I write short stories and books as a hobby as I love it! I have a family of my awesome and amazing parents, my knowledgeable grandfather and my very cute brother who likes to annoy me when I am studying. I study in Little Flower Convent school which is a fantastic school that helped me a lot to develop my gift of writing and debating by enforcing rules that help a person develop in a sensible and all rounded being like me! They also initiate sports which is quite another hobby of mine to do roller hockey. Thanks to all of my people who has helped me, my family, my school, my relatives, my favourite authors, random people who like my work and of course you dear reader, my writing is shaped into what it is today. Thanks to All Amitoz Kaur Sandhu
